Music Review By Michael Paynter / Composer World Webmaster
November 14, 2008 - When I first heard this composer's compositions, I have to admit I was a bit taken back by them. His style by far is one of a very unique and daring approach to the music world in my opinion, and that takes a lot of courage. What do I mean by courage? Well most of us are constantly bombarded by love songs, tear jerkers, and other so called "tame" music, but within this world and within us all there is a darker side. Richard has dared to go there, and let us all see what we might fear. His talent does not stop with his abilty to simply compose the music, but to also put himself and you the listener into it as well. I can sum up in my opinon his style for what you will hear as little a bit classical parlor, perhaps renaissance, with a good dose of macabre. The track you can download titled "Fears In The Shadows" and derived from a larger compostion titled "Passaggio del Charon--Opus 9" . This track will allow you to see just what I mean. If you have ever watched a suspense thriller, or even a classic horror film, you will be able to relate almost from the very beginning of the track. You can relax though, this is not Richard's only style he composes. But I truly believe this is one style he definitely has a knack for. He also composes Classical, Jazz, and a touch of Pop music as well. So don't worry folks, he is not a vampire. Although he once hinted he may be one :) So with that all said, I wish to welcome Richard to our family here at Composer World.
